Kids Inventing Their Future

The California Invention Convention (CAIC) envisions a day when EVERY child in California has the chance to follow his/her natural curiosity, invent creative solutions to problems, and be inspired to achieve his/her highest level of personal accomplishment. Through these efforts, California’s future will be brighter and its workforce more capable and productive. CAIC’s educators and community stakeholders provide an invention education program so that  all California students have the opportunity to develop creative and problem-solving skills that will help them lead successful personal and professional lives. The CAIC believes that through this process, both California and the United States, and ultimately the world, will benefit.

An important part of the curriculum is teaching the student inventor to present the invention – describing the problem, the process the inventor went through to come up with the solution – designing, building and testing the invention – and how this invention solves the original problem.
